Font Catalog 7.0 is here

Font Catalog is currently supported in Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) and above. Target version is 10.0.22621

This update focuses on making your fonts easier to manage, faster to browse, and more accurate to preview. You can now install and uninstall fonts directly from the app, while imported fonts load faster than ever thanks to a new caching system. We’ve reworked how fonts are previewed in the Details view for more reliable rendering, made filtering more dependable, and introduced smarter sample texts that reflect the characters each font actually supports, including 8 new writing system scripts. Alongside these improvements, we’ve refined existing features and fixed a number of known issues to give you a smoother, more consistent experience throughout.

Install fonts from the app

Install & Uninstall Fonts

You can now install and uninstall fonts directly from the app. Fonts you install are added at the user level only, meaning they’re available to your account without requiring administrator privileges or affecting other users on the same machine. Please note that fonts installed system-wide (for example, those that ship with Windows or were installed by an administrator) cannot be uninstalled through the app. This is a restriction imposed by the Microsoft Store, which limits the app to managing only the fonts it installs on your behalf.

Faster Loading for Imported Fonts

Faster Loading for Imported Fonts

Imported fonts now load noticeably faster. We’ve introduced a caching system that remembers previously processed fonts, along with a number of under-the-hood code improvements, so the app spends less time re-reading your font files and gets you to your collection more quickly, especially if you have a large library.

Improved Font Preview

Improved Font Preview

We’ve reworked the custom text controls behind the Details view for more accurate, reliable rendering. Previews are also smarter now: a new Default writing system builds sample text from the glyphs each font actually supports, so you see what a font can truly display instead of placeholder characters.
